Having an email client is a very useful thing nowadays. That's because emails are used more and more and, despite the fact that there are numerous email providers worldwide, there are many of them that don't offer a web based interface for accessing messages. Let's take email addresses related to the server of a company. Accessing and managing those email addresses requires having a software for this. In this case, one could use MS Outlook, which is the most known software for managing emails. But despite its popularity, it has some problems, for example, it's expensive, system resources hungry and takes some time to master all its features.

Spicebird is different. It's a complete email client that's powerful enough to please professionals but it's easy enough to be mastered by inexperienced users. Like MS Outlook, Spicebird is also a Windows application and, to be more precise, it supports all its versions. You don't have to be a genius to install the application, because a few clicks are all that's required for this.

Spicebird has an interface that looks pretty much the same as the one in Outlook, but that's where the similarities stop. Spicebird is easier to use and has some features that Outlook doesn't have. Its interface is organized in tabs which allow managing emails, contacts and tasks. There is also a built-in calendar available in the interface which allows the user to organize all his tasks better and more efficiently. Events and tasks can have a due date and when this date approaches, an alarm or a pop-up can be triggered, letting the user know about it.

Compared to Outlook and other email clients, Spicebird supports applets and add-ons that can greatly extend its functionality. An extra feature available in Spicebird is the support for RSS news feeds. There is also an error console available, which can help developers see what's wrong and where exactly the error is.

Creating an email is no problem, thanks to the large number of text tools available. These tools allow adding different types of text and also some media items, like images or videos.

Pros

It has more features than other email clients, while being, at the same time, easy to use. Besides that, it allows adding an unlimited number of events, tasks and also a due date for each of them. Furthermore, the error console can help developers identify the cause of a possible error.

Cons

Some features are not complex enough to please an advanced user. Spicebird is a complete email client that's easy enough to be mastered by anyone.
